About Us

We are the original crossfit gym in Cambridge and first opened our doors in August 2012. We have a fantastic location in Milton next to Milton country park so running parts of our workouts are really good.

We believe crossfit is for everybody all you need is patients to learn good form and a willingness to work hard and you will get fantastic results. Here is why it works better than a traditional gym:

  1. High level of coaching means you progress as an athlete.
  2. Diet & support – Means your body shape will be optimised (we teach the paleo diet)
  3. Its challenging, fun and different each time you come.

“I enjoy challenging myself as only when I have a real challenge and goal do I train to my best. My Biggest challenge to date was to attempt to swim the English Channel, which I failed on the day unfortunately. I did however swim the length of lake Windermere (12.5 miles) in 8 hours and 50 minutes in 2009. Which was a fantastic.“

“What I like most about Crossfit is the constant challenges it poses. There is always more strength to build and more skills to master”

Background

With a strong background in sport, rowing to Great Britain standard, playing county tennis and rugby to a national standard, exercise is a major part of my life.

Since qualifying, I have coached weight loss classes in the Maldives as well as coaching rowing at Cambridge University.

Outside of competitive sport I am always up for a challenge, having canoed the width of Britain and completed the three peaks challenge. My attempt to cycle from John O’groats to Lands End unfortunately ended early following injury. More recently I have competed in ‘Tough Mudder’ and ‘Spartan race’ events and I’m always looking for new adventures.

Crossfit provides the variety and strength and skills challenges to make it enjoyable every session.

I played rugby throughout secondary school, both for the school and for the Ely Tigers Rugby Club. My own journey through fitness began when I started to train for the Great Eastern Run 5km 2012, where after six months of training I finished the race with a time of 24:54.

I joined the Cambridge Regional College Cycling team in 2012 and soon started training hard to cycle from Cambridge to Paris, a journey of over 300 miles, to raise money for the charity Combat Stress. At this time I was also the first person to be awarded “Fittest Non-Sport or Uniformed Services Student”, an award I am still very proud of.

Being fit has brought me a lot of good memories and has given me experiences most people miss out on. Such as running 7km down an old Roman road in the Dales through bad weather and hilly terrain. I believe being fit and active can give you the ability to see a different side of life and thats what I’d like to give to my clients.

The main sport in my life is crossfit, which I started practicing 2 years ago, and it has become a great passion of mine. I have always been into running – mainly off road and over hills. As well as this, I have completed various 10km, half marathons and marathons, obstacle races and ultra to double ultra marathons. I have also spent my earlier years doing strongman, powerlifting style competitions as well as hypotrophy and volume training. I have a great passion for hill walking and love the outdoors.

Verity Joy Bradford – Gymnastic coach

Crossfit Trainer Level 1
Crossfit Gymnastics Level 1
Crossfit Gymnastics Advanced
Certified GMB Trainer
Level 3 Personal Trainer

When I began Crossfit in 2011 I was quickly drawn towards the gymnastics and bodyweight movements that are an integral part of the sport. I focused my training on mobility flexibility, locomotion, ring skills, and in particular, hand balancing. This led me to becoming a certified GMB Trainer, and developing my Crossfit Gymnastics coaching further.

I combine a creative approach to movement with traditional strength and conditioning. Developing body awareness, improving quality of skills, and learning to be mindful when training, are integral to what I teach. Crossfit is such a diverse sport, and improving both basic and complex gymnastics skills will transfer over to all areas in an athletes performance.

What I love most about it is the confidence it brings to our students when they achieve things they thought they couldn’t. Crossfit is about being part of a community and supporting one another through every challenge.
